Tutto scorre, tutto è in divenire: la trasformazione e il cambiamento sono alla base della vita e degli organismi viventi.

All’origine di ogni cosa ci sono  gli embrioni in trasformazione, le cellule in movimento continuo…..

“La realtà è un flusso continuo e una successione di stati, ciascuno dei quali preannuncia quello che segue e  contiene quello che lo precede. Nessuno di questi stati comincia o finisce, tutti si prolungano gli uni negli altri.

Se cerco nella profondità del mio essere ciò che è più uniforme e costante, trovo un insieme di elementi differenti.

La vita interiore è simile allo svolgersi di una spirale, in cui nessun essere vivente si sente alla fine del suo ruolo; la vita quindi appare come il filo di un gomitolo che si arrotola continuamente su se stesso, contenendo passato presente e futuro.”

“In reality there is, a continuous flux of different states. 

There is a succession of states, each of which announces that which follows and contains that which precedes it. In reality no one of them begins or ends, but all extend into each other. 

If I search in the depth of my being that which is most uniformly, most constantly, and most enduringly myself, I find an altogether different thing. This inner life may be compared to the unrolling of a coil, for there is no living being who does not feel himself gradually to the end of his role; and to live is to grow old. But it may just as well be compared to a continual rolling up, like that of a thread on a ball, that contains past, present and future”.
